So far, so good with the condo. Yesterday we did an inspection with Rem's dad, snooping in all the corners and turning on all the appliances. Found a couple little things - loose towel bar, stiff doors, bit of water damage on the bathroom counter edge... but nothing too terrible. The finance dude has been encouraging but thus far no numbers, so we'll see... the MLS number is E3074638 if you're interested.

Check www.mls.ca and use the number to search. It's a cool site. I've spent many minutes in house envy while searching through.

Hey, Steph, that looks pretty nice. Does Rem approve of the kitchen? And does Anne mean the condo is right next to her work? That's a nice part of town. Hope it all works out.

It's about four blocks from work - maybe less. Kinda by the Molson Brewery. Great location!

Rem's quite enamored with the kitchen - and so I am - dishwasher! (Sorry, Lana.) We're not quite in the nice area by Anne's work - we're in a bit of a condo ghetto - lots of new buildings in an area that used to be big empty lots. Not bad, though. And close to Steeps! It's two blocks north of the brewery, which might not be so nice on summer days when a south wind is blowing, but seems to be fine the rest of the time. (Knock on wood!)

So *do* they work on a cantilever principle? I'd have thought it would be more of a sling mechanism, like a suspension bridge. I guess it depends on how much the back strap does. (Come to think of it, I can imagine how that might work; I guess the belly strap on a lot of backpacks works the same way. But is it a cantilever?)

It's been 9 years since I took Vector Mechanics, so I wasn't sure, and I may get fired from work for googling "cantilever bra" (at least I did so on a Saturday), but the following article turned up and should answer any questions you all have - and many you don't. While I quite liked the math, the final paragraphs are also worth reading. http://www.firstpr.com.au/show-and-tell/corsetry-1/nanas/engineer.html

Good lord. Thanks, Matt. Apparently "There is more to brassiere design than meets the eye. In many respects, the challenge of enclosing and supporting a semi-solid mass of variable volume and shape, plus its adjacent mirror image-together they equal the female bosom-involves a design effort comparable to that of building a bridge or a cantilevered skyscraper." Annoyed that 34-B is consider the "ideal size", though. Hmph.
