When you make taco buns, make sure you cook the meat first. 1 lb. gr. beef browned with taco seasoning mix. I also put a tbsp of grated cheese on the meat before closing up the bun.

Good point! I can definitely see Will attempting to use uncooked meat. I've edited the post - thanks.

I'll admit that I've had my share of culinary misfires, but I like to think that I'd remember to cook the taco meat.

Jeez Anne. What makes you think that you can give out old family recipes? They are meant to be kept in the family, not blasted all over the web!

Well, all measurements are estimates (this IS Grandma we're talking about) but it's always worked well for me.

This bun recipe provoked a lot of commentary. Theresa, you are the most practical one of all of us!

I expect the baking temp for the buns is 350 farenheit.

Sorry, I am not meaning to pick apart your posts. I'm sure nobody noticed but me, that's the curse of working at a newspaper.

Can I get a layman's explanation for the term "Round well" ? Ditto "Punch down" unless it's exactly as it sounds...

Made the plain buns this weekend...very yummy. However, I think I made them a little big. They turned out the size of kaisers!!! Oh well...all the more room for fillings.
